Capture Chinese
in the wild.

Use it on your phone when Chinese shows up in real life: record a phrase, snap a sign, or search a word. NeoLinguo turns the moment into approved words, flashcards, and Memories told in your own Chinese.

01 — Voice Memos

Heard a new word? Save it before it slips away.

When you overhear something new — a phrase on the subway, a word from a friend — drop a quick voice memo. NeoLinguo transcribes the audio, pulls out the words and sentences worth keeping, and proposes pinyin, meaning, and audio. Approve only what you want.

02 — Object Photo

Don't know the word? Just take a photo.

Snap a picture of anything around you — your lunch, your umbrella, a sign on the street. NeoLinguo identifies what's in the frame and proposes the Chinese words with pinyin and meaning. Save the ones you want, with the original photo for context.

03 — Flashcards

Review the same word from different angles.

Practice meaning, characters, and audio. Cards come back at the right time, with the words you keep meeting in memos, photos, and Memories.

Choose what to test

Words climb between modes as you get them right. Ones you miss come back sooner.

04 — Memories

Tell your own stories, with a tutor at your side.

A Memory starts from something that really happened to you. The agent asks about it, then helps you retell it in Chinese, sentence by sentence, at your level. Tap through a sample conversation below.

Memory

Let's make a Memory. Tell me what happened today. Chinese or English, anything goes.

Tell it your way - English, 中文, or both
Send

  • Sentence by sentence. The agent turns what you say into Chinese you can own, with hanzi, pinyin, and audio.
  • Never frozen. A Memory stays open. Come back to retell it, test yourself, or keep the conversation going.
  • Feeds your practice. The words and sentences from your Memories join your flashcards and review.

05 — Smart Add

Know a word already? Add it in one tap.

Type a Chinese character or its English meaning. NeoLinguo's lookup fills in the rest — characters, pinyin, meaning, even audio. Edit anything before saving.

FAQ

Quick answers.

Which language does NeoLinguo support today?

Chinese (Mandarin, simplified hanzi with pinyin). NeoLinguo is built end-to-end around Chinese: extraction, pronunciation, Memories, and review all assume Chinese as the target language. Other languages aren't on the immediate roadmap — depth before breadth.

What does "review-first" actually mean?

Suggestions don't become study material until you accept them. Memos, photos, and lookups all produce drafts you can edit or skip before they enter your library.

What level is it for?

Beginners can start on day one: the agent keeps Memory sentences short and simple, and grows them with you. The app becomes more personal as you save more words from your own life.

Is NeoLinguo a mobile app?

Yes. Early access is a native iOS app, delivered through TestFlight while we roll out in small waves. Android isn't available yet.

How fast can I capture a word in the moment?

One press. On iPhone you can put NeoLinguo on the Action Button or a Siri Shortcut: press, speak, done. The memo uploads on its own and waits in your review queue, so you never have to open the app mid-conversation.
